I interviewed very diverse Social Workers in Chicago and they all had one thing in common. They wanted to be heard. I developed a video and space installation with a narrative that visualized the issues they faced. I transformed the topics that they revealed to me on camera by using a paint brush to write highlight of what they told me on the walls of the Gallery.
In the middle of the space there was chair, and all the monitors had extended headphones for each social worker’s video. In order to listen you would have to go to the chair and reach for the headphones.
