ICA GIANT COLORING BOOK

THE DESIGN WITH A BLUE ACCENT COLOR

Illustration & Concept
The subject matter features black and white designs that illustrate iconic places in the Miami Design District. ICA’s theme “Our Place in the Miami Design District,” distinguishes the Institute of Contemporary Art as an essential contributor to the art culture in Miami. The design includes references to iconic art pieces that you can find throughout the design district such as: Buckmister Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome, John Baldessari’s Fun (part 1 & 2), the Konstatin GRCIC: NETSCAPE, swings, the public sculpture Flotsam & Jetsma: shop Architects,  Murals by 2X4: Jungle and Vortex, Marc Newson’s Dash Fence, Mathew Ritchie: After Light roof mural, scuptures from Xavier Veihan: Le Corbusier, Zaha Hadid: Elastika and references to the building facade in the Palm Curt by architect Sou Fujimoto.

This Giant Coloring Book was an interactive art piece that allowed the audience of all ages to use their own imaginations to fill in the details of the design, and the end result was determined by community participation.
