Cyanotypes were discovered by John Herschel in 1842. It is a printing process that uses two chemicals known as ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide to create blueprints. Exposure to the sun on synthesized paper can produce photo-grams from negatives or objects. Understanding the positive and negative space is essential in the process and I am exploring how to recreate this experience by making a 2D drawing into an immersive installation. I am projecting onto laser cut outs a stop motion animation that was made with paper hand made cut outs of Cyanotypes.
