Alejandra invites you to share your stories during this exhibition. Alejandra plans to gather stories from Broward County residents, incorporating their refuge memories into her animation. She will host workshops this summer in the gallery and more! This exhibition will showcase a variety of Alejandra Abad’s previous works along with the making of her forthcoming project, Water State, which was supported by an Artist Support Regional Grant from the Broward County Cultural Division. During the closing of the exhibition on September 20th, she intends to showcase a one time version of the experimental animation outdoors after dusk at the Pompano Cultural Center, while inviting the public to further share stories or responses during an open mic. This short animated collage celebrates Florida’s unique role as a sanctuary for various life forms.
